About Uconnect System
Uconnect is the infotainment platform used in RAM 1500 vehicles for navigation,
Bluetooth, audio, hands-free calling, and vehicle settings. Occasionally,
the system may require a reset to restore normal operation.
When Should You Reset Uconnect
- Touchscreen freezing or not responding
- Bluetooth connection issues
- Navigation not loading
- Audio or media problems
- System restarting unexpectedly
Method 1: Soft Reset (Recommended First)
A soft reset refreshes the system without deleting saved data.
- Turn the vehicle off
- Open the driver-side door
- Wait at least 2–3 minutes
- Restart the vehicle
- Allow Uconnect to reboot fully
Method 2: Touchscreen Reset
Some Uconnect systems allow a screen-based reboot.
- Turn ignition to RUN mode
- Press and hold the volume knob and tuner knob together
- Hold for about 10–15 seconds
- Release when the screen restarts
Method 3: Battery Disconnect Reset
This method clears temporary system memory.
- Turn off the vehicle
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal
- Wait 10–15 minutes
- Reconnect the battery
- Restart the vehicle
Important Notes
- Radio presets may reset
- Bluetooth devices may need re-pairing
- Saved navigation data may be cleared
- Always follow vehicle safety precautions
If Reset Does Not Fix the Issue
If problems continue after resetting, the Uconnect system may require a
firmware update or professional inspection through authorized service
channels.
